Newcastle 'Lads and Dads' receive funding for a new mower
Recently the Newcastle Under Lyme Branch of Long term HeawardSports Ltd. clients, important Staffordshire youth football charity Staffordshire Ladsandads, received some good news from the Football Foundation small grants programme. A grant of £3,756 has been approved, half of the total £7,512 cost of a new mower.
This small but significant award provides the Newcastle branch of Ladsandads, based at Pool Dam Playing Fields, vital funding for a new mower. Purchase of the new mower will help the branch continue with their successful campaign to enhance the quality of the facilities on-site by upgrading the quality of grass cutting regime possible whilst also saving valuable volunteer time. The mower was identified as a key improvement by Staffordshire FA in a recent pitch improvement report completed for the site.
The new mower is the third project that HeawardSports Ltd. has helped the Newcastle Branch secure grant aid to deliver. Previous grants have provided much-needed perimeter fencing to the site and a new toilet block. This project is a great example of the excellent working relationship that exists between ourselves, the local FA and grounds maintenance equipment specialists Campey Turf Care who were able to offer a fantastic price on the new equipment.
Over 430 children regularly play football at Pool Dam during the football season so the impact of this grant will be huge!
